Gomes’s game-time in the past season declined compared to the campaign prior and he also struggled with injuries.

The 28-year-old midfielder made 14 appearances in the Premier League in the past campaign, only half of the total he managed in the 2020/21 season.

With his game-time dwindling, the Toffees are prepared to pull the plug in regards to Gomes’ time at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are ready to offload the midfielder this summer as they plan on improving for the season ahead.

Gomes’ contract with the Toffees runs until the summer of 2024 but the Toffees are prepared to let go of him this summer.

The midfielder has played exactly 100 matches for the Toffees, having netted two times, and could leave them ahead of next season after playing for them both on loan and on a permanent basis.

It remains to be seen, with Everton open to offers to a move for him, if any clubs make bids for the midfielder in the summer.
