AC Milan have had an agreement in place with Botman for several months but have been unable to get a deal done with Lille.

They have reportedly tabled a bid worth €33m but the French club are still demanding a fee of around €40m before agreeing to sell him.

The delay in concluding the deal for Botman has allowed Newcastle to get right back in the mix and they have an agreement in place with Lille.

And it has been claimed that the defender is now pushing to sort out his future in the next week.

The 22-year-old centre-back wants his future decided before he goes for his summer break next week.

He is currently on international duty with the Netherlands Under-21 side and is keen to finalise his future soon.

Botman does not want the speculation over his future to drag further and spill over to his summer break.

Newcastle are prepared to get the deal over the line but Botman has been waiting for AC Milan to sort out their finances.
