Griffiths is an academy graduate of the Baggies and spent the last two seasons out on loan, first in League Two and then the past campaign in League One.

The starlet helped Cheltenham Town win League Two in the 2020/21 season and spent the past campaign with Lincoln City.

For the Imps the shot-stopper made 33 appearances before an injury in March ended his season prematurely and now he could be returning to the third tier.

Portsmouth are interested in signing the young goalkeeper on a loan basis for next season as they look to replace Gavin Bazunu.

Bazunu is leaving Fratton Park after an impressive loan spell, being named the Player of the Season, and he is claimed to be close to joining derby rivals Southampton.

Griffiths kept two cleans sheets for the Imps last season in his 33 League One appearances and conceded 46 goals.

The shot-stopper has yet to make his debut for the Baggies but if another loan spell is in the offing for him, he will be hoping to progress further at Fratton Park.
