The Spurs hierarchy are backing Conte in the transfer market this summer as the club gear up for a season back in the Champions League.
Conte wants to oversee a squad overhaul at Tottenham, while working closely with managing director of football Fabio Paratici, and they are looking to sign as many as six new players.
The north London giants’ recruitment department are identifying potential targets across all positions, including attacking midfield.
And they have been monitoring Lyon star Paqueta, who is versatile and can play in multiple positions in midfield and even up front.
However, the Brazil international is also firmly on the transfer radar of Tottenham’s top flight rivals Newcastle.
The Magpies are also looking for reinforcements in midfield and Paqueta is among the names on their wishlist, although they could be priced out of a move.
It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will act upon their interest in the Lyon star and push to snap him up this summer.
