The 22-year-old centre-back is in the middle of a transfer saga between Newcastle and AC Milan in the ongoing transfer window.

The Rossoneri have already agreed on personal terms with the defender with Paolo Maldini pushing to take the Dutchman to the San Siro this summer.

But there is no agreement in place between Lille and AC Milan, and Newcastle are now pushing the French club to accept their bid for the centre-back.

However, according to the Italian outlet MilanNews.it, Botman has continued to push for a move to the San Siro this summer.

The Dutchman’s priority has been joining AC Milan for several months and the Rossoneri have sold their project to him.

Newcastle are prepared to offer more in terms of wages to Botman but the centre-back still wants a move to AC Milan.

The Serie A champions have also not given up on the prospect of getting their hands on the defender as well.

They held fresh talks with his entourage on Monday night and are hoping to work out an agreement with Lille soon.
