The teenage forward has agreed personal terms on a professional contract to move to Aston Villa this summer.

The young Rangers forward has scored 49 goals in youth football and Steven Gerrard has played a role in convincing the youngster to agree to a move to Villa Park.

The two clubs have been in talks over agreeing on compensation, but Rangers rejected a deal worth £300,000 plus add-ons and bonuses last week.

And it has been claimed that the two clubs will now go to FIFA to resolve the dispute surrounding the young forward.

Rangers are of the opinion that Wilson is contracted to the club until December and they are due a transfer fee.

Aston Villa are insistent that every player in Scotland is an amateur until he signs a professional contract.

Wilson turned 16 in January and has not entertained talks over a professional deal with Rangers meaning Aston Villa believe rules around the termination of a contract are redundant.

Villa are planning to register the youngster as their player on 1st July, which is expected to be blocked by the Scottish FA.

The dispute will then go to FIFA where the governing body would be expected to take a call on Wilson’s registration.
