The 22-year-old midfielder will undergo a medical at Arsenal on Friday ahead of his £34m move to the Gunners this summer.

He has already agreed on personal terms on a contract with Arsenal and is set to become the first big arrival of the summer at the Emirates.

But the Gunners have plans to make further additions to the squad with an interest in Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus.

And it has been claimed that Vieira’s imminent arrival has not altered their plans to try and sign Tielemans.

Arsenal have been tracking the midfielder, who has a year left on his contract at Leicester City.

Leicester are prepared to sell him this summer as they want to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.

Tielemans originally wanted to join a club in the Champions League, but is now open to a move to the Emirates.

Arsenal are keen to work out an agreement with Leicester soon amidst interest from other major clubs in England and Europe.
