The speculation surrounding the future of the 22-year-old centre-back has dragged on for several weeks with Lille prepared to sell him.

Botman has had an agreement in place with AC Milan over a contract and the Rossoneri have offered a fee of around €33m to the French club.

But interest from Newcastle has complicated the situation and the Magpies are pushing to sign the Dutchman after losing out on him in January.

According to the Italian outlet Calciomecato.com, Botman’s entourage expect this week to be decisive with regards to his future.

The Dutchman wants to join AC Milan and has continued to stick to his stance despite the pressure from Newcastle.

Lille are pushing to sell him to Newcastle as they are believed to be offering more money for the defender.

AC Milan though are confident that Botman wants to make the move to the San Siro.
