Almiron has come in for criticism from the Magpies faithful but he still became an integral part of Newcastle’s squad in the late stages of the preceding season.

After struggling for game-time to start the year, from mid-March onward the Paraguayan played all but one match for the Magpies to close out the season.

Still, speculation still persists about a possible move away from St. James Park for the midfielder and other clubs have been paying attention.

Almiron has been the subject of enquiries from sides in Spain and France, who are curious about whether he is available for a transfer.

The Paraguayan star has a contract until the summer of 2024 on Tyneside but it remains to be seen of the Magpies become willing to part ways with him this summer.

Almiron scored just once last season, his only goal contribution, in 30 Premier League appearances and the consensus remains divided among supporters regarding him.

Time will tell if the enquiries of the clubs from France and Spain turn into interest in signing the Paraguayan star.
