Luiz has been heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park in the ongoing window and the arrival of Boubacar Kamara has only added to the uncertainty surrounding his future.
Serie A giants Roma have emerged as a potential destination for the Brazilian, but they need to sell players before they can move for him.
Another Italian side in the shape of AC Milan also have Luiz on their transfer radar and it is claimed that the Rossoneri hierarchy met with the player’s entourage on Thursday to discuss the potential finances of a deal.
However, according to Turin based daily Tuttosport, AC Milan see Luiz as an alternative option to their priority midfield target Sanches.
The Milan giants are keen on snapping up the Portugal international from Lille, but they are facing strong competition for his signature from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Should they miss out on Sanches, AC Milan are likely to turn to Luiz and could make concrete moves to take him to the San Siro.
But Aston Villa are seeking €30m for Luiz’s services, while AC Milan are unlikely to offer anything above the €20m mark for a player that is currently in line to be available for free next summer.
