Ferguson, who is on the books at Rangers’ Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen, has regularly been linked with a switch to Ibrox.

He is again mooted to be a target for the Gers in some quarters as Giovanni van Bronckhorst aims to strengthen his squad ahead of the new season.

However, last season’s Europa League finalists are not looking to land the 22-year-old this summer.

Rangers have no interest in agreeing a deal with Aberdeen to take Ferguson to Ibrox.

Ferguson featured heavily for Aberdeen over the course of last season, making 44 appearances for the club and chipping in with 16 goals in the process.

He scored for Aberdeen against Rangers in January and played in all three of his side’s league meetings with the Gers.

Aberdeen have the midfielder tied down on a contract at Pittodrie until the summer of 2024.
