Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is determined to lead his team to a Champions League spot finish next season in the Premier League having missed out on the top four last term.

Arsenal have been busy on the transfer front this summer and have already bolstered their midfield by roping in Fabio Vieira.

But Arteta is eyeing further reinforcements in the middle of the park and has zeroed in on Lazio star Milinkovic-Savic.

Arsenal saw the Serie A giants knock back their initial bid in the €55m range for the Serbian, as his side deemed that offer as being too low.

And according to Italian daily Il Messaggero, the north London giants are now prepared to launch an improved effort to push through a deal for Milinkovic-Savic.

Arsenal are in constant contact with the 27-year-old’s agent Mateja Kezman as they look to bring him to the English capital while Lazio remain firm on their €65m valuation of the player.

But Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri is keen to offload Milinkovic-Savic in a bid to add more funds to his transfer kitty and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal table an improved offer for him.
