Davis’ future at Elland Road is under the scanner as he is in the final year of his contract at the club.

The defender spent last season on loan in the Championship at Bournemouth but he struggled to earn regular game time and the Cherries opted against signing him on a permanent deal.

Davis could well part ways with Leeds in the ongoing window and it has been suggested he is likely to join a team playing below the Championship.

And League One outfit Ipswich have now identified the 22-year-old as a potential target as they look for reinforcements on the left side of their backline.

The Tractor Boys have enquired about the possibility of signing Davis from Leeds, as boss Kieran McKenna looks to build a side capable of seriously fighting for promotion from the third-tier next term.

In addition to his natural left-back role, Davis can also slot in at centre-back but he is unlikely to have a future at Leeds.

A move to Ipswich could provide Davis regular minutes and it remains to be seen whether Leeds will agree to a deal with the Suffolk giants should they make concrete moves for him.
