Alonso has a year left on his contract at Chelsea and has made it clear to the club that he wants to move on this summer.

The Spaniard has a clear idea of wanting to return to his homeland and Barcelona are his preferred choice with talks already held between his camp and the club.

However, there has been little movement on that front and Chelsea are yet to take the final decision on whether to sell Alonso.

And according to Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo, the defender is now pondering over whether to hand in a transfer request.

Alonso is growing impatient over the delays in sorting out his future and wants Chelsea to finalise his departure soon.

However, Chelsea are busy trying to sign players at the moment and are wary of losing more defenders before bringing a few in.

The Spaniard wants the Barcelona move and is now considering forcing the issue in order to seal his exit from Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona are waiting for the situation to develop further and are expected to try and bring down Chelsea’s €13m asking price for Alonso as well.
