The 22-year-old midfielder was a bit-part player at Leeds last season and made just one league appearance after Jesse Marsch took charge in February.

He has become surplus to requirements at Leeds and the club are about to add one more midfielder to the squad in the form of Tyler Adams after signing Marc Roca this summer.

Leeds are in discussions to loan him out in the ongoing transfer window and Shackleton has been attracting interest from several clubs.

And it has been claimed that three Championship clubs have shown an interest in signing the midfielder.

He has two years left on his contract but is aware that he is unlikely to feature in Marsch’s plans next season.

Leeds want to loan him out to a club where he will get an opportunity to play regular football.

Shackleton is assessing his options and will hope to make a decision over his future sooner rather than later.
