Chelsea have seen centre-backs Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave the club this summer while they could also see further departures in defence.

Blues boss Tuchel has made it a priority to fill the vacant spots left in his side’s backline by roping in centre-backs and has zeroed in on Juventus man De Ligt.

The 22-year-old is also a target of Bayern Munich and it has been claimed that he prefers a move to the German champions.

And according to French outlet Foot Mercato, Tuchel is determined to not miss out on De Ligt and is planning to talk to him personally.

Tuchel wants to contact the Bianconeri defender in person to convince him to choose Stamford Bridge as his next home.

As it stands the Londoners are leading the chase to secure De Ligt’s signature as they are the only club that have submitted an offer for him.

It remains to be seen whether Bayern Munich will also slap in a bid for De Ligt this summer and provide further competition for Chelsea.
