PSG were reportedly not interested in signing Ekitike but it has been claimed that the club are indeed in the race to sign him.

Newcastle had a deal worth €46m in place with Reims but they backed out of the pursuit as his representatives dragged their heels during negotiations.

The Magpies felt that his camp were trying to get more clubs involved in the saga and the jury is out on whether they will try to go back for Ekitike.

And according to French sports daily L’Equipe, PSG are making moves in the pursuit of the Reims striker this summer.

PSG held talks with his agent on Monday and the club’s technical team also met Mathieu Lacour, the CEO of Reims.

The Parisians are trying to understand the extent of the deal Reims agreed with Newcastle earlier in the summer.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in Ekitike but PSG are now the ones who are pushing to sign him.
