The Gunners turned their attention towards getting the Manchester City star after it became clear that Lisandro Martinez had made up his mind about joining Manchester United.

The two clubs have been in talks over a deal and Manchester City have been ready to let Zinchenko go if their valuation was met.

And it has been claimed that the deal is now close with the two clubs reaching an agreement over a fee.

Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City for a fee of around £30m in their pursuit of the left-back.

With the two clubs have the outlines of the deal in place, Arsenal are now proceeding towards working out a deal with Zinchenko.

The north London club are in talks with his representatives to discuss the terms of his contract, including wages and length of the deal.

Zinchenko is keen on the move and Mikel Arteta wants to work with the player who he coached at Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s assistant.
