Lingard is a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Manchester United, but nearly three weeks after his deal ended, he still has not joined another side.

West Ham, where Lingard had a successful loan spell during the first half of 2021, have tried to tempt the player back to the London Stadium.

It has been suggested Lingard’s wage demands could be an issue as West Ham look to sign him, but the clock is ticking down towards the start of the new Premier League campaign.

West Ham are waiting to see what he decides, and Lingard is now tipped to decide very soon what he wishes to do, with all eyes on where he goes.

If he wants to leave Europe he has options, with the attacker having been linked with a big money move to Saudi Arabia.

Lingard will be looking to play on a regular basis wherever he goes, following a season of limited game time at Manchester United.

West Ham are also chasing two strikers, with Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca both wanted at the London Stadium.
