Toffolo is a top target for Forest as Steve Cooper continues to try and build a squad that can compete in their first season back in the Premier League after 23 years.

The Nottingham Forest boss wants to add more defensive reinforcements to his squad and negotiations have been ongoing between the two clubs over a deal.

There were claims that an agreement over a fee between Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield but a deal is far from being done.

It has been claimed that Nottingham Forest still have work to do before they can sign Toffolo from the Championship club.

The deal is suggested to be being slowed up due to transfer haggling.

He has a year left on his contract and the Terries are running the risk of losing him on a free transfer.

But they are keen to get the best price possible before they agree to sell Toffolo to Nottingham Forest in the ongoing transfer window.
