The Bees are gearing up for a second consecutive season in the Premier League and boss Thomas Frank is keen on bolstering his squad further.
Brentford are in the market for new forwards and have zeroed in on Sampdoria winger Damsgaard.
The London outfit slapped in an offer in the €12.5m range for the Denmark international as they look to take him to the Premier League.
However, according to Italian outlet Club Doria 46, Sampdoria are not impressed with the fee Brentford are offering Damsgaard.
The Italians will not even start thinking about selling Damsgaard for an offer below the €20m mark.
Moreover, Sampdoria have no need to cash in on the 22-year-old in the ongoing window.
It remains to be seen whether Brentford will return to the negotiating table with an improved offer for Damsgaard’s services this summer.
