Tavares has travelled with the rest of the Arsenal squad for their pre-season tour of the USA, but his future is very much under the scanner.

The imminent arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City is likely to make him surplus to requirements and Arsenal are open to offers for him.

The wing-back is the top target for Marseille as they look to bring in reinforcements in that area of the squad.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe, the Ligue 1 giants are now looking at other players as well as part of their plans.

Arsenal have taken their time in deciding on Tavares’ future but Zinchenko’s arrival is expected to make the decision for them.

However, it has been claimed that the former Benfica man is himself not sure about joining Marseille this summer.

Tavares has his doubts and there is no certainty that he will end up at Marseille in the ongoing transfer window.

The French outfit are now looking at other players despite the Arsenal man being their top priority.
