With Calvin Bassey leaving Ibrox for Ajax, Rangers are keen to bolster their defence, especially the left-back position; they have signed another centre-back in the shape of Ben Davies.

The Gers have zeroed in on Besiktas star Yilmaz, a player they have been keeping an eye on for some time.

Rangers are claimed to have tabled a bid in the £4m range for the defender but Besiktas are holding out for a bigger fee, possibly around £6m.

In addition to the Scottish giants, Serie A side Torino have also had Yilmaz on their transfer radar this summer.

But according to Turkish daily Sabah, the left-back is open to moving to any club that reach an agreement with Besiktas over a deal.

Amidst having multiple potential suitors at present, Yilmaz has no clear preference about who his next club should be.

Rangers are claimed to have informed Besiktas that they need to lower their demands for a deal to go through for Yilmaz.
