The Hammers’ hunt for a new striker this summer is set to end soon as they are the on verge of sealing a deal for Scamacca from Sassuolo.

West Ham have agreed a deal with Sassuolo for the services of the Italy international for £30.5m in fees in addition to £5m more in bonus payments.

The capital club have been in discussions with Scamacca’s agent Alessandro Lucci over finer details of his clients move the London Stadium.

And West Ham boss David Moyes is close to having his man as the Italy international will fly to London today and have his medical tomorrow.

Moyes sees Scamacca providing support and competition for first choice hitman Michail Antonio in the upcoming campaign.

The 23-year-old found the back of the net 16 times in 36 Serie A appearances last term while he has also represented Italy on the international stage.

West Ham are confident they can get a deal over the line for Scamacca even though there are still some small details of the transfer that need to be sorted out.
