Parrott is among the highly rated young players at Spurs and they are open to letting him leave on loan this summer to continue his development.

The striker is also keen on moving to another club on a temporary basis in a bid to clock up game time on a regular basis and has several suitors in the Championship.

Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers and Middlesbrough have all submitted loan offer for Republic of Ireland international, while Preston are also keen on snapping him up.

And the Lilywhites are inching closer to winning the race for Parrott as he has verbally agreed to join them despite interest from the likes of the Black Cats.

The Spurs starlet is set to undergo a medical at Preston, who are working on sorting out the final details of a personal terms agreement with him.

Parrott spent last term away on loan at MK Dons where he was a fixture in the squad and is now expected to play next season in the Championship, which is a step up in competition.

The 20-year-old has been an active part of Tottenham’s pre-season training under Antonio Conte but he does not see the youngster, playing a key role under him next season.
