The Yorkshire giants are keen to make an addition to their squad at left-back before the transfer window slams shut at the start of September.

Marsch is drawn towards an option in his native United States and the club are keen on Philadelphia Union’s Wagner.

Wagner, who joined the MLS side from lower league German club Wurzburger Kickers, is wanted by Marsch at Elland Road and he is personally urging the club to sign him.

And Leeds are continuing talks with Philadelphia Union in an effort to find an agreement.

They are not the only side to hold an interest in Wagner though.

Portuguese outfit Benfica are also pushing to try snap Wagner up and a move to the Estadio da Luz may appeal to the player.

Marsch though will be hoping that Leeds director of football Victor Orta will be successful in landing Wagner.
