West Ham boss David Moyes wants Vanaken, a player he has tried to sign in previous transfer windows, and the Hammers have backed him by putting in a bid.

The offer of €10m was laughed off by Club Brugge as they have no intention of selling Vanaken, especially following the loss of Charles De Ketelaere to AC Milan.

Vanaken is open to a move away, but he is not willing to rock the boat at Club Brugge.

In a boost for West Ham however, it is suggested that there is now a growing feeling that the midfielder wants the move to the London Stadium to happen.

Whether Vanaken wanting the move will translate into him pushing Club Brugge to sell him to West Ham remains to be seen.

The 29-year-old is a key man at the Belgian giants and losing him is something the club are refusing to contemplate at present.

All eyes will be on whether West Ham go back in with another bid to further test Club Brugge’s resolve, which they are tipped to do.
