Traore had an impressive debut season for Aston Villa in the Premier League, but he struggled with his form last term.
The winger only played a bit-part role last season and manager Steven Gerrard is open to seeing him leave Villa Park this summer.
Traore’s situation at Villa Park has seen him attract a number of potential suitors, including Turkish outfit Basaksehir.
And the Super Lig side have won the race for the forward’s services and are closing in on wrapping up a season-long loan deal for him.
According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Traore is set to be put through his medical paces at the weekend ahead of a move to the Istanbul side.
Basaksehir have not managed to negotiate a purchase option in the loan deal for Traore and he is set to return to the Midlands club next summer, where he is contracted until 2024.
Traore primarily operated as winger for Aston Villa, but he is set to slot in as a centre-forward for Basaksehir.
