The Hoops snapped up the 19-year-old from Sligo Rovers in January, adding him to their books on a four-year deal.

Kenny has been playing for Celtic’s B team this season but the club want him to garner first team experience.

Celtic are prepared to allow the teenager to leave on loan in the ongoing window and he has drawn admiring glances from several quarters.

League Two side Carlisle are on the hunt for attacking reinforcements and have identified Kenny as a potential target.

The Blues want to take the Irishman south of the border while he also has suitors in Scotland.

Kenny was part of Celtic’s senior set-up for their pre-season tour but is now likely to play football on a temporary basis elsewhere this season.

It remains to be seen where the highly rated attacker ends up playing as he is expected to change clubs for a second window running.
