Vanaken is a player that has popped up on the Hammers’ radar in previous transfer windows but they are making a serious push to snap him up this term.
The midfielder is keen on a move to the London Stadium as he sees it being his final chance to play for a top club abroad.
West Ham initially submitted €10m bid for Vanaken, but Club Brugge rejected that offer out of hand.
The Irons though determined to land their target went back in with an €11m bid, but the Belgians knocked back that offer as well.
And according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, Club Brugge want a resolution on Vanaken’s future quickly.
The Jupiler Pro League outfit are expecting West Ham to return to the table with a significantly improved offer and as such are trying to convince Vanaken to remain at the club.
There is just over a week left in the transfer window and the Blauw-Zwart want clarity on whether Vanaken’s future remains at the club, as he is a key player and they would ideally want to replace him should he exit.
