Stockton’s future at the Mazuma Stadium is under the scanner as he has attracted significant transfer interest from League One rivals Fleetwood and Port Vale.

Cod Army boss Scott Brown wants to add a new striker to his ranks and is a firm admirer of Stockton.

Fleetwood saw Morecambe knock back their opening two bids for the hitman but are yet to give up on their hopes of snapping him up.

Morecambe though are holding out for a whopping £600,000 fee, in addition to bonus payments.

But Stockton has made it clear to the Morecambe hierarchy that he wants to join Fleetwood in the ongoing window as they are offering him a far better financial package.

And Brown’s side are set to launch a third and final bid to snare away Stockton from Morecambe.

Fleetwood will turn their attention towards alternative options if Morecambe rebuff their next offer for Stockton, while Port Vale also remain keen on him.

The window is set to slam shut on Thursday and it remains to be seen whether Brown will finally land his top striker target.
