The Tigers have ambitions to earn promotion back into the Premier League this season, but have had a slow start to their Championship campaign.
Hull boss Shota Arveladze is keen on adding more firepower up front and wants a new winger at his disposal.
The Championship side are in talks with Trabzonspor over their winger Jean Evrad Kouassi while they also have other names on their radar.
And according to French daily Le Parisien, Hull approached Ligue 1 outfit Nice on Wednesday night to probe a deal for winger Da Cunha.
Les Aiglons have let Hull know what their demands for the 21-year-old winger’s services.
However, following the enquiry, talks between Hull and Nice have slowed down over Da Cunha while there are only hours left in the window to get a deal done for him.
The Frenchman is also on the radar of Nice’s rival top flight club Lorient, while it remains to be seen whether Hull step up efforts to land him in the coming hours.
