The Hammers are still keen on bolstering their squad, especially their backline, with new centre-backs and full-back on their wish list.

West Ham have identified a potential right-back target in Serie A in the shape of Torino man Aina.

The Londoners went in with an opening with worth £7m for Aina, which involves £3.5m as a base fee and a further £3.5m in add-on payments.

However, Il Toro turned down West Ham’s opening offer for the 25-year-old.

With only hours left in the window, the Irons are currently deciding whether to return to the negotiating table with a new bid for Aina.

The defender is in the final year of his contract at Torino and this window could prove to be their last chance to earn a fee from his departure.

Aina is also able to slot in as a right-wing back in addition to his natural role as a right-back and has been a key player for Torino so far in Serie A this season.
