Maatsen spent the previous season on loan with Coventry, playing on the opposite side of the pitch to the right-back Dabo, appearing in 40 Championship games and scoring three goals.

The Chelsea loanee now returns to the Coventry Arena with his new team Burnley this weekend and he will look to dampen his previous side’s season further, with the Sky Blues being bottom of the Championship.

Dabo revealed that the players do not speak to each other before the game, in relation to facing Maatsen this weekend.

The right-back did insist though that when the players take the pitch this weekend it will be all-out war, warning his former team-mate, and he is interested to see who comes out on top.

“It’s all fun and games”, Dabo said via his club’s official site when asked about facing Maatsen again.

“We don’t speak before games and when we cross that white line, it’s war, so we’ll see who comes out on top.”

Maatsen has had a good season with Burnley so far, starting for them more often than not and getting multiple assists.
