Bellingham has been tipped to leave Dortmund at the end of the season with some of the biggest clubs in Europe chasing him.

Liverpool have long identified him as their top midfield target and he is also being chased by Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Chelsea have also thrown their name into the ring and the club’s new owners have prioritised signing the England star next summer.

And according to the German magazine Sport Bild, they have already been in touch with Dortmund over a transfer for Bellingham next year.

The Blues are hoping to steal a march on their rivals and are putting in the leg work required to do a deal.

They have also been in contact with the player’s entourage for a while, but now talks have been established between the two clubs.

Dortmund are not necessarily resigned to losing him next summer and are expected to offer him a new contract.

But the Bundesliga giants are prepared to let him go if they receive a fee in the region of €150m.
