Villa are sitting just above the relegation zone and have been struggling for form since the end of last season.

Gerrard is under scrutiny for failing to get a tune out of the Aston Villa side consistently despite being heavily backed in the transfer market by the club’s owners.

Agbonlahor admitted that he has no motivation to go and watch his former side play at Villa Park anymore as they are pedestrian and boring to watch.

The former Villa striker stressed that Gerrard has become one-dimensional with his tactics and the strategy does not suit the forwards he has in his squad at the moment.

Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT: “I don’t want to go and watch Aston Villa play at the moment.

“I don’t go to Villa Park and watch them because it is not entertaining.

“The tactics Gerrard is trying to use at Aston Villa is to get the ball out to Matty Cash and get crosses in.

“But the strikers we have got are not the ones who can get in front of defenders and get headers in.

“It’s very predictable and boring to watch.”

Aston Villa will next host Chelsea at Villa Park in a tough Premier League game on Sunday before travelling to west London to take on Fulham.

They are 16th in the league table with only three points separating them from the relegation zone.
