Basham revealed that Ahmedhodzic is a fantastic person and expressed surprise that the Bosnian defender has not been snapped up by bigger teams.
The 34-year-old paid tribute to the people behind the scenes responsible for bringing in the Bosnian in the summer, hailing him as a fantastic signing.
Basham predicted that the Premier League will be Ahmedhodzic’s next port of call soon enough, and hopes that it will be with Paul Heckingbottom’s side.
“Yes, as a person, fantastic”, Basham said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Bristol City clash when quizzed about Ahmedhodzic from a technical perspective and as a person.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t been picked up by [bigger teams].
“We’re the lucky ones and he’s done ever so well for Sheffield United, fair play to whoever brought him in because he’s been fantastic.
“I’m surprised he hasn’t gone.
“He will be a Premier League player in the next few years, I’m sure, and I hope it’s for Sheffield United.”
Sheffield United are currently in fourth place in the Championship table after 17 games played and next travel to 14th-placed Bristol City looking to add another three points to their tally.
