Thuram’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach is set to expire at the end of the season and a host of clubs are alert to landing a potential bargain.

He is set to leave on a free transfer in the summer, but the jury is still out on when he will end up.

Newcastle and Liverpool are monitoring his situation and are keen to take him to the Premier League, but the English pair look set to face further competition for Thuram.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are also in the fray and are in the race to sign him at the end of the season.

The Serie A giants want to sign a forward next summer and Thuram’s contract situation makes him an appealing target.

The French forward is being closely looked at and Napoli are probing the possibility of signing him on a free transfer.

Thuram also has others suitors in Italy where Inter are also keen to snap him up.

The Nerazzurri are said to be considering offering €10m to Gladbach in January to sign him, while Bayern Munich are another potential destination.
