Marsch has emerged as the favourite to become the next Southampton manager and a deal is expected to be finalised soon.
The Saints got rid of Nathan Jones over the weekend and quickly made a move to pursue Marsch, who Leeds decided to sack earlier this month.
Talks have progressed well between the American and Southampton and he is claimed to have verbally accepted an offer.
And it has been suggested that Marsch is ready to accept a short-term deal to become the Southampton manager.
With the Saints rooted at the bottom of the Premier League, the club are not keen to offer a long-term contract.
Marsch is said to be ready to accept such a deal, which is set to play a big part in Southampton’s decision-making process.
The Saints want a new manager in place before they take on Chelsea away from home on Saturday.
Despite his struggles this season, Southampton were impressed with the way Marsch kept Leeds alive in the Premier League last year.
