Charlton appointed Dean Holden in December after a disappointing start to the season and the new Addicks boss has been able to steady the ship since taking over.

The Addicks are eleventh in the league table and will next travel to Pride Park to face fifth-placed Derby County.

Warne stated that Charlton are a very good side that like to control the game and pointed out that there are some similarities in the way both managers set up their teams.

The Derby County boss believes that Charlton are a club of Premier League standards and he stressed that the Addicks will take the game to his side with the intention of beating them.

“They have had some really good results in recent weeks and the way they play, they like to control the game”, Warne told Rams TV.

“They are a very good footballing side and they have very good outlets out wide similar to us and set up in a similar sort of way.

“I do expect them to come here and attack us.

“I think it will have a different feel to the game from Tuesday night, which might suit it or not.

“I do think they will bring the game to us and they will see us as a team they want to beat.

“There are a lot of teams in this league that have touches of the Premier League and their club is probably bigger than League One and Charlton are definitely one of them.

“They have picked up, like I have said in recent weeks and they will see beating a team, who are currently in the top six as a good scalp.”

Charlton managed to beat Derby when they met in August at Valley and Holden’s side will be eager to repeat that on Saturday.
