Ceballos’ contract with Real Madrid expires in the summer and Aston Villa were interested in him during the January window.
The midfielder played under Aston Villa manager Unai Emery at Arsenal and the Villa boss is continuing to maintain his interest in his former charge.
Emery could launch a move to try to take Ceballos to Villa Park in the summer as he looks to continue shaping the squad.
However, Bayern Munich have now joined the race as they are keen on the Real Madrid star, according to Spanish outlet Relevo.
Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is an admirer of the midfielder and thinks that he could slot in perfectly into the middle of the park for the German giants.
At the moment, Bayern Munich’s interest in the Aston Villa linked midfielder is only at a preliminary stage as there has been no contact established.
For his part, Ceballos prefers staying at Real Madrid by signing a new contract and the Spanish giants are claimed to be ready to make him an offer to extend his stay.
