Bristol City’s 12-match unbeaten run came to an end on Tuesday when they took on Premier League outfit Manchester City in their FA Cup fifth-round clash at Ashton Gate.
Pep Guardiola’s side won with the help of Phil Foden’s brace and Kevin De Bruyne’s goal in the 81st minute, which put the final nail in Bristol City’s FA Cup campaign this season.
Pearson acknowledged that the atmosphere at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night was fantastic and admitted that the team are disappointed that they were unable to put in a better performance.
However, the Robins manager believes that after his team’s display against Manchester City, Bristol City fans will recognise that they have good group of players representing them on the field.
“The atmosphere was brilliant and I think that is something that has been all season”, Pearson told Bristol City’s media.
“I hope our fans go home tonight recognising that they have a group of players who really care about playing for their team.
“We are disappointed that we didn’t do better tonight and that is a good thing because we know the fans are behind us.
“We want to deliver success for them.”
Bristol City are 13th in the Championship table with 44 points from 33 games and Pearson’s side are eyeing a place in the playoffs this season.
