Mount will enter the final year of his contract at Chelsea in the summer and there is still no agreement over a new deal.

The midfielder feels underpaid at Chelsea and has already rejected several offers of a new contract from the Blues.

Liverpool are amongst the Premier League clubs who are prepared to pounce this summer for Mount if a new contract is not in place.

It has been claimed that Boehly held direct talks with the player himself on Friday to sort out the situation.

The Chelsea co-owner reiterated the club’s desire to hold on to the midfielder, who has progressed through the ranks at Stamford Bridge.

Boehly’s direct intervention is being seen as a positive as Chelsea look to convince him to sign a new deal.

Mount’s priority is to stay at Chelsea but wants his wages to reflect his importance in the squad.

However, Chelsea will sell if a new deal is not agreed upon between the club and Mount’s agents in the coming months.
