The Hammers are putting plans in place for the eventual departure of Declan Rice who is expected to leave this summer.

David Moyes is believed to be considering bringing in two midfielders to replace his current captain and the club have been keeping tabs on several targets.

Palhinha has been on West Ham’s radar following his impressive performances in the Premier League last season.

And it has been claimed that the Hammers are set to put in an opening offer for the Fulham midfielder.

West Ham are set to table a bid worth £40m to test the waters with Fulham for Palhinha initially.

Marco Silva wants to keep the midfielder at Craven Cottage and would require some convincing to let him go.

Fulham are also likely to demand more to sell one of their top players to a direct rival such as West Ham in the transfer window.

West Ham have other midfielders on their radar as well but Palhinha is a player Moyes admires and wants.
