The Dutch defender is expected to move on from Torino this summer after a series of standout performances in the Italian top flight.

He is likely to have a number of options and now Crystal Palace have made a firm move to try to get ahead of the competition for Schuurs.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Palace have gone in with a bid of €25m for Schuurs.

However, it is suggested that with both Liverpool and Newcastle also keen, the Torino man is in no rush to say yes to the Eagles.

Schuurs wants to see whether either club firm up their interest in him and what other sides might yet come forward to try to sign him.

Crystal Palace could lose the services of Marc Guehi and Schuurs could be viewed as a possible replacement.

Serie A pair AC Milan and Napoli also hold an interest in the defender, who may yet continue in the Italian top flight next season.
