Iheanacho, 26, has been on the books at Leicester City since 2017 and has largely played in the shadow of Jamie Vardy despite making some noteworthy contributions to the Foxes so far.

He is claimed to be keen to leave the King Power Stadium following the relegation of the Foxes as the Nigerian star is said to not want to play in the Championship next season.

Nottingham Forest are keen to hand Iheanacho a route to stay in the Premier League next season.

It has been suggested that the Tricky Trees are in talks with Leicester for the signature of Iheanacho, who is now said to be valued at €18m.

Now the race for the Nigerian forward is heating up as, according to Turkish daily Takvim, Galatasaray have joined the hunt for Iheanacho amid their plans to bolster their attacking ranks this summer.

Forest are also keen on reorganising their options this summer in the hopes of not getting dragged into another relegation dogfight next season.

Steve Cooper’s side have already let 13 players go permanently this summer besides concluding a high-profile deal for Chris Wood from Newcastle United.

Now it remains to be seen whether they will strike a deal for Iheanacho or witness Galatasaray’s swoop for the 26-year-old Nigerian.
