Doyle, 19, came through the youth ranks of the Cityzens but has yet to make his debut for the Premier League title holders.

The defender was shipped out to Sunderland and Coventry City in the previous two seasons and his imposing on-field presence with the Singers has buttressed his reputation.

Now it is claimed that the Foxes are exploring the prospect of bringing the centre-back to the King Power Stadium this summer on a permanent basis.

The 19-year-old can also play in the full-back position and his versatile trait on the pitch could bolster Leicester’s defensive options.

The Foxes are undergoing a squad revamp in the ongoing transfer window in a bid to see an immediate return to the English top flight next season.

They could hope to reunite Doyle with Enzo Maresca, with the two being acquainted with each other due to their Manchester City connection.

Doyle is valued at between £7m to £10m by the Cityzens and the jury is still out on whether Pep Guardiola’s side will let him go this summer.

And it remains to be seen if Leicester will make a concrete offer for Doyle in the coming days and if they will be able to persuade Manchester City.
