Onana has emerged as the priority goalkeeping target for Manchester United as Erik ten Hag seeks to bring in a new number one ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils have failed with a €45m bid for the Cameroonian but they have continued to remain in talks with Inter over finding an agreement.
Inter want around €60m from his sale but are believed to be prepared to do a deal for €50m plus add-ons.
And it has been claimed that Manchester United are getting more confident of signing Onana in the ongoing transfer window.
The Premier League giants are working on a second bid and are confident of working out an agreement.
Inter are prepared to sell the goalkeeper for the right fee and Onana is also keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Ten Hag is keen to have Onana in his squad before Manchester United fly out for their pre-season tour of the United States later this month.
