The 20-year-old striker has come to the fore this summer following a terrific season in Ligue 1 where he scored 19 times in 33 appearances for Montpellier.

He has been linked with a move to the Premier League where Newcastle are amongst the clubs who are believed to be interested in him.

Eintracht Frankfurt are also said to be keen on him as a potential replacement for Randal Kolo Muani.

But according to French sports daily L’Equipe (print edition), Chelsea are also considering taking Wahi to London in the ongoing transfer window.

The Blues are still in the market for a striker despite signing Nicolas Jackson and Wahi is a player they like.

It has been claimed that Chelsea are expected to put in their first offer for the forward this week.

Montpellier want somewhere around €30m before agreeing to sell the striker this summer.

Wahi is patiently waiting for the right offer after rejecting proposals from Union Berlin, Lazio and Bournemouth.
