The 29-year-old midfielder spent the latter half of last season on loan at Luton and played a key role in helping them to get promoted to the Premier League.

He made 17 Championship appearances for Luton while not getting any minutes at Villa in the first half of the campaign.

Luton have been clear about wanting to sign him on a permanent deal and the two clubs have been in talks over getting a deal over the line.

And it has been claimed that an agreement is now in place between Villa and Luton for the midfielder’s move to Kenilworth Road this summer.

The two clubs have thrashed out a deal and Nakamba is now on the verge of joining Luton on a permanent deal.

Aston Villa and Luton are sifting through the final details and the paperwork of their agreement for the transfer.

The deal is expected to go through today or tomorrow as Nakamba prepares to return to Luton.

The newly-promoted outfit have already signed three new players this summer in their pursuit of building a squad that can survive in the Premier League.

And Nakamba is now set to become their fourth signing of the ongoing transfer window.
